Overview
The HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid qualification is designed for individuals who require a higher level of first aid knowledge and skills to manage complex emergency situations until medical or paramedical support arrives.
This nationally recognised unit covers advanced first aid responses, management of casualties, and the use of specialised equipment in a range of settings — including workplaces, community environments, and high-risk industries.
It’s ideal for first aid officers, supervisors, or anyone wanting to take their emergency response training to the next level.
What You’ll Learn
- Respond to a wide range of medical emergencies
- Perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) on adults, children, and infants
- Manage incidents involving multiple casualties
- Provide first aid for severe bleeding, fractures, burns, and head injuries
- Respond to allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, and asthma attacks
- Manage shock, cardiac conditions, and diabetic emergencies
- Administer medications as required by workplace procedures

Entry Requirements
There are no formal prerequisites for this qualification.
- Participants must have basic English and literacy skills.
- Must be physically capable of performing 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.
- Completion of HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid prior to or alongside this course is strongly recommended.
Course Duration
- Duration: Typically delivered over 1–2 days (depending on experience and delivery mode).
- Refresher Training: Recommended every 3 years (CPR component – HLTAID009 – should be renewed annually).
- Delivery: Face-to-face or blended learning (online theory + in-person practical).
